This two bedroom luxury apartment is stylishly and comfortably decorated, and benefits from all the facilities The Highland Club (the former Old Abbey) has to offer.
This is a unique apartment, set in a superb location nestled on the shores of Loch Ness. It is one of the more private apartments and has its own private ground floor entrance. A second ground floor entrance (patio door) opens onto a quiet corner of garden area (ideal for kids or a romantic picnic)!

The apartment is only minutes walk from the picturesque village of Fort Augustus. Restaurants, bars and shops are all available in the village. Fort Augustus is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Highlands, not just for discovering the wilds, and not so wild attractions around Loch Ness. The River Oich and the Caledonian canal runs through the village and many an hour can be spent just watching the boats passing through the lock system on their way to and from Loch Ness.

Local facilities

• Fort Augustus village is only 2 minutes walk and has a number of local pubs/restaurants, local supermarket and a variety of gift shops.
• Anyone can play golf at the local golf club.
• You can cruise Loch Ness aboard the Royal Scot in the spring and summer months (hourly sailings from Fort Augustus)!

Activities

• The local area offers excellent hill walking, golf, cycling, fishing, boating and many adventure sports, including white-water rafting and quad-biking for the more adventurous!
• To the East there are several beaches in the Dornoch/Black Isle area. Whisky Distilleries are in all directions.
• While for the children, the Hogwart's Express is a train that runs along the valley where Harry Potter was filmed. Also for the kids there are riding stables in the next village.
• Travel just 40 minutes to Inverness for some Family Fun at Aquadrome (pool, spa and water rides to suit all ages !)
• The ruins of Urquhart Castle, Cawdor Castle and the world famous Eilean Donan Castle are all nearby.
• The location allows traffic free access to Aonach Mor ski area in the winter months. And the Ben Nevis Skiing area (and Cable Cars) is only 45 minutes drive.
• The official Loch Ness Visitor's Centre (5 star tourist attraction) is about 20 minutes drive.

The Old Abbey is a magnificent ‘A’ listed building standing in 20 acres of mature and well manicured garden grounds. Within the grounds outdoor seating, tables and barbeque's are provided for guest use.

• Kitchen /dining room: Fitted to the highest standard with marble worktops, a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and ironing facilities. Integrated Washer/Dryer is located in an enclosed area underneath the stairs. Kitchen and dining area is equipped with a wall mounted flat screen TV. A beautifully finished table and chair set ensures that you will be dining in style!
• Sitting Room: the kitchen area leads into a stylish sitting room with another flat screen TV (Sky Freeview) and DVD player, selection of DVDs. Sliding (solid oak) double doors allows you to close off the sitting area at night time for more privacy. Sofa bed available for an extra person - additional charge of £15.00 per week.
• Bedroom 1: On the first floor the tastefully decorated master bedroom has a built-in wardrobe and dormer windows overlooking the surrounding communal grounds. 37inch Flat Screen TV. Hairdryer supplied.
• Bedroom 2: Second bedroom (also upstairs) has twin beds with a Flat Screen TV, DVD player and integrated IPod docking station. Hairdryer supplied.
• Bathroom: Equipped with bath, shower over bath and wash hand basin. Well lit wall mirror and heated towel rail.

• Quality bed linen and towels. Heating, gas & electricity included.
• Cot and high chair available on request.
• The sofa in the lounge converts into a sofa bed for a 5th person.

Other Facilities Available

Tennis court, croquet, table tennis, giant chess, boules and other activities are available within the grounds of the Abbey. The Monastery lawn, with loch-side barbecue and seating area.
The Boathouse Restaurant, on the shores of Loch Ness, is just a few minutes walk away (please contact the restaurant direct for opening times - 01320 366682) and the luxurious Club Lounge with billiards table, wireless internet access and comfortable seating is available for your use.

Please note. The prestigious development at The Highland Club complex is still continuing. As the Moat House wing itself is completely finished, you should not be inconvenienced, although this cannot be guaranteed. The prices for the apartment have been set to take the building work into consideration.
